English malady

I am definitely and absolutely under the control of English now.
Yes, I am eating English, I am sleeping English, I am drinking English. If by any chance, I might even be shitting out A-Z!

This is the fate most will probably be facing after a gruelling week of nothing but English. In the morning I will be teaching and marking English. At night, I will be analyzing the different aspects of SAT and scrutinizing every part of it (Okay! I am lying but try looking at foreign words everyday, wowowow). Currently, my brain only has space for English, nothing but English. However, there might be advantages to it. In a short time to come, I might be spewing a long string of linguistic articles that will leave people gasping for breath and paralyze them with a great intensity. I will leave that to "in-a-short-time-to-come".

Meanwhile, I shall continue living my lowly mortal life lest I would get ridiculed for my teeny-weeny-meeny peanut repertoire of vocabularies. Living a simple life does make one gets hungry easily (arrgh but nothing to eat lei).

Since we are currently on the topic of English now, I shall perhaps make my little contribution on the value of this intricate language which has been passed down, well, donkeys of years. I don't understand all these emphasis of English by many people especially the parents of these children. I am not saying that people should stop learning English and give it up totally. Yes, I understand that English is extremely important in this society but isn't your mother tongue equally important? Perhaps to them, it is cool yakking English away in an American or British accent (this does not apply to people who has grown up overseas) . Perhaps to them, it is not proud to be a Chinese. Perhaps, they don't even care about their own tradition. Perhaps to them, speaking chinese is a form of inferiority and it means that you are not that highly educated. Oh, all sorts of bullshits! Without some of these traditional moral thinkings (I definitely do not agree with all the traditional moral values but some of them are indeed important), the society might be degrading to a i-dont-know what state. Oh well, I know, it is their family's problem and it is definitely none of my business. I've said my piece and it is time to go for my supper and prepare for activities lined up tomorrow.
