When reality sets in Yes, these bangladeshi workers I would say spend probably more time and energy on work compared to most Singaporeans out there in the society. They have no choice. From the standard of education in Bangladesh, even if a man happens to be a university graduate, he would have barely any choices but to settle for menial jobs. Blame it on the fact that they are not highly educated in English (which is like universal language). To get to Singapore with a work permit, they would need to pay a whole s$7000 and if they were paid s$500 a month, how long would they take just to pay off this debt? Think about it, basic mathematics would tell you that they would need a bare minimum of 2 years even if they scrimp and save. So what would these bangladeshi do? Obviously, they would slog it out just to keep the job. As such, unscrupulous employers started popping out of nowhere (probably from the dustbin or something to that extent) and attack these workers in their weaknesses. Yes, how shitty people can get? At this point of time, my heart goes out to them, seriously. Although I have never had a fond interest (that's too strong a word) for them. Alright, although I have never really liked banglas because they are a tad too noisy but hey! they are humans too aren't they? Why must they be treated this way? Just because they will not have much advantage since they are not Singaporeans? Is that how the society works then - attacking on other's weaknesses. If it's that, I quit, I had rather not enter the society then. However, there is a seemingly large number of good employers as well, applaud to them please. I don't really know the sole purpose of this entry anyway but perhaps just to let others know that things does not seem as simple on the outlook. Perhaps, it's because we are pretty much protected from the dangers and frauds of the society by our lovely parents as well as the government. And as much as I do not wish to admit, there are really different classes of people out there, yes, even in Singapore. You tend to see which kind of people mixing with which kind of people and what sort of character gets along with what sort of character kindda thing. Perhaps it is a kind of social stigma you will see in almost every country. It can't be helped though, it is hard to change a person's characteristic and upbringing. As such, I end my entry with a resolution: I might try to respect banglas from now on.
I guess there are still pretty much stuffs for me to explore and learn. Well, this is not to let me be a better or a stronger person because I wouldn't wanna turn out to be like Popeye whom relies on spinach the whole time or probably some gross action heroes like batman or spiderman (I kindda like superman though so I shall not comment much on him). Whether you like it or not, the society is cruel and most people are practical. Look, I am not actually condemning the whole human race, I just said most, so don't get too agitated please. By chance, I'm pretty sure most would have heard of the term "No money, no Honey" before. I totally agreed with whoever that created this. Imagine if you go to the supermarket, peniless, penceless, coinless, noteless or whatever, would you be able to buy a bottle of honey? No right? If you can, tell me, I will consult you for professional help. Okay, back to the topic. Not able to get a bottle of honey without money (at this point of time, anybody with an unsound mental state should leave here immediately. Alternatively, you might consider seeking guidance from me before you continue reading - $80/hour) unless...that is unless you decide to antagonize the bees up on the tree and pluck the hives down for a sumptuous feast of honey!
After the reality tv programme on channel 8 last night, I realised that many are actually suffering from injustice which we probably wouldn't have imagined. Although they are probably just the minorities in this country, they too, have a family back in their hometown and is a living human being (Homo sapiens if you would like it that way).
